Really confused, and somewhat scared?

okay, so... we'll call my current boyfriend Dan, my best friend's boyfriend Bart, my best friend Ally, and my crush Fred. Okay, so me and Dan have been on and off for about 9 months. Im thinking about dumping him for good, but i dont really know if i can let him go. Bart and i have been talking a lot lately and i SORTA like him. Ally and him just started dating about three weeks ago though. I know bart would never go out with me. He is one of those guys who only likes one girl for a long period of time. So, yeah. Now, me and fred have been friends for like a year. Fred and i use to txt like crazy (5-6 hours at a time). Him and i became very close and we just like randomly started calling eachtoher babe and hun and sweetheart and tell eachother we loved one another but nother was ever really offical. then me and dan got back together when school let out. i havent talked to fred since... but then like last week his sister txted me and told me to call fred. it was late so i said i'd do it in the morning. i forgot all about it and so yeah. today i was going through my contact list and saw fred's name. i decided to txt him and see why he wanted me to call him. so he was like "it's too late now, nvm". and i dont know what to say. he keeps asking me to guess, but i dont know what to guess. im thinking he wanted to ask me out, but i dont know. :/ i really like him, more than i like my current boyfriend. you're opinions on this? what should i say?
