Where can you go for a tropical beach eco-vacation that is not too hot and buggy in August?

August is the only time my friend and I can go. But Mexico looks really hot and the Caribbean sounds full of mosquitoes. Is that true? We live in upstate NY and do not have too much money- we can't go to Hawaii for example. We are not into big resorts and would prefer a quiet, uncrowded, eco-oriented, restful vacation. Small red rash on small of back?

Earlier today after completing my regular regimen of sit-ups on my carpet floor with my shirt on I noticed a small red rash on my back. It does not hurt, it is not raised, the affected area is not scaly nor itchy. I was worried that it could be skin cancer although it resembles nothing like a skin cancer. Could this just be some sort of irritation caused by the carpet? I am clueless and quite worried.

Incomplete college courses?

What happens if you get an "incomplete" grade for a college course? Obviously it can't affect your GPA, but will it stay on your transcript if you simply just take the course again next semester? I took taxation 350 last semester and it was a disaster,did learn anything from the profess and...got the incomplete because we had to write a term paper with a partner and my partner never helped out (team term papers weird huh?) so if the incomplete doesnt stay on my transcript I was thinking of just "forgetting" about the cl and taking it with a different professor over the summer.

I can't believe how out of control society is. As an active movie goer I've found that you can't go into any movie today (except G and PG rated movies) without seeing and . Its even in PG-13 movies! I'm sorry but no 13 year old should be watching people have on the big screen. I have grown up thinking is meant between two people in love behind closed doors. Young girls (and guys) watch this. Suddenly kids are having at 12 and 13, girls are going anorexic, and pretty much all people admit to having self esteem issues. If and s are so important in a movie its just a sucky movie anyway! Back in the 1950's pregnancy wasn't even mentioned and couples on t.v. slept in seperate beds. Now t.v. shows, show just about as much as they can. And what about your children? Do you feel okay allowing them to watch movies and shows where its portrayed as fun to have , and cheat on their spouses, and skinny girls are admired and fat are looked down on. As a teenager I dealt with depression. I had very low self esteem because I felt I would never be as good as those pretty girls and my body would never look like the ones on the movies. I think the movie "knocked up" took it TOO far! Showing mulitiple sex scenes. And even a women giving birth! Shouldn't this be stopped? Is all that really nessacary to put in movies? I'm sorry to hear about all that has happened to you and i would really like to help, but i have no idea how. You have already used suicide hotlines, and probably a phsychologist, but i really think you need someone to talk to, someone that doesn't act like nothing ever happened, just to make themselves feel better because they know this is all thier fault. All you need is a really good friend and maybe someone that doesn't care so much about themselves and actually gives a damn about you. I have chronic depression and i get depressed all the time, and i usually want to kill myself when i do. If you listen to music, escpecially country music, it always makes me feel better. But you are what, only thirty? You have got a lot to live for, and, even though they may not act like it, there are a lot of people around you that really care and will miss you when you're gone, god willing, that be a long time from now. And I also think you need to get away from that husband- or whatever- of yours, it seems like he doesn't give a damn about you or your daughter, only himself and his reputation. I think that you are a really strong person. You have tried to kill yourself, what, seven times? And you are not dead. You are still alive, here, on earth, breathing, talking, eating, laughing -hopefully- and that means God has a purpose for you in your life. You may not see it now, but you are going to do something great one day and that is why God has put you through so much, so that you would be strong enough, quiet enough, caring enough, or whatever you need to be to help someone else. You should not kill yourself. Your daughter needs you. You said she has been beaten and wants to kill herself too, well then you have to be strong and lead a good example for her, and tell her everything will be ok, trust me, i've talked 3 of my friends out of suicide already, just by telling them they need to be strong and that I am always there. You need someone to always be there for you too, and i think you and your daughter could find that in eachother. You could be the one she lays her head on to cry, and vice versa. I've always been fascinated by the whole alternative universe of conservative think tanks, like the Fraser Institute or the American Enterprise Institute, or literally hundreds of others. I've found that when a conservative will try to actually use "facts" in their arguments, they'll say, "Hey, it says so at the Fraser Institute", not understanding that it's a conservative organization with a partisan view point. I'm amazed that even educated conservatives don't really seem to get this. Liberals like to use peer reviewed, objective sources to make their case, because it's based on a thing called science, but these conservatives literally can't make these distinctions. I asked a question earlier, asking if they drug test all newborns, and I got about 90% "yes" answers. Anyway, if they do, then what does the epidural and narcotics (my "what to expect when your expecting" book says they may give you a shot of narcotics, like demarol, before the epidural) show up as? Or do they just test for street drugs (like Cocaine, pot, ect). But even heroin shows up as morphine in a drug test. What does the epidural show up as? an opiod??

10 days after my most fertile day (14th of this month) i had some light bleeding. Nothing painful came with it, just very light one time. I hadn't been thinking about pregnancy just to avoid "mental symptoms" as I call them,but this came out of no where.Again, to avoid getting excited, I forgot about it, but then I started to get cramps, but not really painful ones like during my period, mainly just annoying uncomfortable ones, along with lower backaches.This started right on the 24th (the day of the bleeding).The past 4 - 5 days I have been nauseous every night and getting minor headaches. I'm 1 day late for my period which is always on time like clockwork and i never get any cramps until i actually HAVE my period. My parents sent me to a private christian school for my highschool carreer and I loved it. I have been raised in a non-denominational family my whole life, but we did most of our bible studying at home. Our last church we traditionaly attended was a Baptist church and my dad was best friends with the preacher there, and he was the one who influenced my dad and got him to accept christ. Unfortanetly, he ped away one sunday during his message and died of a heart attack. So, ever since then, my dad decided that it was best to have our bible study at home.(I was 11). When I was a junior in highschool, I was attending my private christian school and as a mandatory requirement we had to attend a week lone jubilee (where a lot of different preachers from different denominations come together and take turns preaching the gospel). Well, I was sitting in one of the front rows with the rest of my cl and for some reason this one particular preacher called on me during the sermon and asked me what I would say to the Lord if He where to come back right this second and if he where to ask me why I deserved to go into heaven. I was so shocked that he was calling me out and asking me this..and I have always been an extremly shy person and awkward in large social settings. I was knocked speechless and was shaking and I studdered out that I have no idea. Well anyways, he precided to use me as an example for the congregation that I was "an unsaved teenager caught up in the world". I was so shocked that he would automatically ume these things about me. That he would humilate me infront 200+ people and would judge me and my relationship with the Lord in that way. I (apparently) ignorantly have always looked up to christian leaders/preachers and have always viewed them as good, decent, non-judging individuals. So you can imagine my shock at that moment in time. Afterwards, he told me to come up front and kneel down to pray with him, so that I could be saved. I got really emotional and started to cry a little (I was not spiritually moved...just embarred beyond belief and a lot more worried about my salvation, since I was apparently suppose to know what I was going to say to God) and I turned my head down and ignored him...he became a little offended but did not press me any further.(Probably under the impression that I felt convicted or just a stubborn non-believer) After the program was over, I had all of these different people from the church trying to "save me" and "show me the way" or "let's have you baptisted", and all I could think was....why in the world did these people not see what he just did to me? That he just publicly humiliated, and judged me? And they just went along with it, calling out "amens" during his peseccusion of me. A few years later, I started to realize that not all preachers are correct. And that no adamic natured human being on this earth has any right to judge me..only the Lord does, but I hate that it weakened my relationship with the Lord and it made me ashamed of myself for so many years. Now that I am 21 years old, I look at 16 year olds as children! Why would he pick out and pick on a 16 year old child during a sermon? It is sort of like that saying "satan in a sunday hat". It's like the devil knew that he could weaken my faith through that man and make me afraid of attending church. How do I get over this fear?

Last June my husband got a vasectomy. It was a mutual decision, but with extreme hesitance on my part. I wasn't ready to stop having kids, I truly felt/feel like we have one more child waiting for us. But I let him go through with the surgery anyways. He got the approval in october that he was "shooting blanks" and so I went off birth control. I am now going on 12 days late. My period is never more that 2-3 days late (except back in august when I was under severe stress of my parents divorce, it was 2 weeks late then). Anyways, is there any other reason for a period to be this late? I haven't been overly stressed lately, and I don't do extreme exercise. What could be going on? Is it possible I'm pregnant? I feel sometimes that I am because of mood swings, tired alot, and constantly want cheese covered tortillas chip or chocolate, but could it all just be in my head? I don't want to take a pregnanct test yet cause I don't want to get my hopes up, what do you think?

I have been on this regimen for about two weeks now, no major improvements, a bit better and actually breaking out worse in some spots, and VERY DRY, RED and FLAKY ... questions: (1) Can I put moisturiser after tretinoin at night? and if so how long after should i wait to apply the moisturiser? Why is my betta fish (siamese fighting fish) not eating?

He stopped eating the normal food pellets when I brought him home from college 5 days ago. I have also tried to feed him freeze-dried blood worms which he also eats, yet he refuses to eat them too. I'm a 23 year old mail. The past three years or so have been very unstable for me. I've gone back and forth on Christianity, postive thinking, surpressing feeling, meditation, mindfulness, and simply downright exhusting my mind! My question is, how can we as humans devlelop a solid belief system, while being open to the fact that our beliefs are simply choosen beleifts, and nothing is really "true". For example, I could choose to believe I'm an attractive or unattractive person, but in reality, these are both just beliefs and not truths. I've been told that I can create my reality according to the beliefs I choose to feed my subconscious mind, but how do I know if I've gone too far, especially if we are to have a belief that nothing is impossible. It doesen't seem logical to hold the belief that even if I eat terrible and smoke, to hold onto the affirmation and belief that " I live in a healthy body and am well". And what does irrational and delussional thinking really mean? For example, many might have said that THomas Edison had irrational and delussional beliefs about forming a light bulb, but clearly his belief that was consdered "Impossible" has changed life as we know it. Who is to stop me in believing in the ressurection of Jesus without beliving in hell and certain aspects of sin, while other Christians may say my beliefs are inccorect. I guess my question is, if reality is dependent on the subective beliefs that we CHOOSE to believe, instead of a truth that nobody agrees on, where do we draw the line when determing our own personal beleifs? Harmen/Kardon 695 speaker issue?

My Harmen/Kardon speakers are emitting a very odd sound. Its not crackling but instead a loud beeping noise that increases in frequency, then stops and does it again and again. It almost sounds like a siren. The speakers ARE NOT plugged into the computer in any way and it just started doing this totally at random when I turned it on one day. Bump up the voltages a bit, take it to 3Ghz and then test for stability. If it's not stable then increase the voltage a bit more until it is. Remember to keep an eye on those temps.
